Our Services

Community Schools resources will provide for students’ social, emotional, physical and intellectual needs and partner with districts and community organizations to remove barriers to learning and support the whole child.

Promotes positive behavior and student development through values-based instruction. Provides tools and strategies to help students build respect, responsibility, and ethical decision-making skills essential for personal and academic success.

Plan and coordinate services based on the district’s identified needs in collaboration with available service providers and community partners, with the goal of reducing obstacles to learning and increasing trust between families and schools. Support district personnel in implementing high-quality, supportive, and comprehensive services that promote student success and well-being.

Enhances school health services by providing access to medical and dental screenings, health assessments, and safety guidance. Supports school personnel with training and protocols to manage student health needs, respond to illnesses or injuries, and promote a safe, healthy learning environment.

Supports student well-being through access to mental health education, peer support, and advocacy. Offers programs and trained professionals to provide mentoring, early intervention, and resources that promote emotional resilience and reduce stigma around mental health in school communities.

In partnership with local organizations, students have access to additional support to help them navigate challenges and show up for themselves.

Translation/Interpretation services are available to improve student learning, support successful academic outcomes and facilitate school-parent communications for English Language Learners (ELLs), deaf and hard of hearing students

Promotes overall student wellness through programs focused on physical health, mental well-being, character development, and healthy relationships. Offers workshops, curricula, and support materials designed to educate and empower students, families, and school staff to make informed, healthy choices both in and out of the classroom.

Value Add Services

As part of the Community Schools CoSer your district can participate in “value add” opportunities. These can include workshops, professional development and other resources that are offered for free or at a reduced cost for districts in Community Schools.

Advisory Committee Participation

  • Community Schools Advisory Committee - Enhances the goals of the Community Schools COSER by focusing on collaborative leadership and practices through quarterly meetings.

Compeer

  • Youth Mental First Aid Courses - Covers youth mental health challenges, adolescent development, and a 5-step action plan for assisting young people in crisis and non-crisis situations. Topics include anxiety, depression, substance use, psychosis-related disorders, disruptive behavior disorders (like AD/HD), and eating disorders.


Erie 1 BOCES

  • School Mental Health Support Staff Consortium. Intended for school social workers, counselors, and psychologists to network, discuss and learn best practices and supports for students.


Suicide Prevention Coalition

  • Suicide Safety for Teachers and School Staff - Train the Trainer


Trauma, Illness, Grief (TIG)

  • TIG Workshop (5 Say Series) -  TIG’s comprehensive training K-12 educational settings is appropriate for any and all school-based staff. The innovative program model equips school-based professionals with evidence-based crisis response skills, resources, and ongoing technical support to help students cope with trauma, violence, illness, death, and grief in the school setting.
